In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Location for events and sightseeing — A 5-minute walk to both Lanxess Arena and the Messe, and about 15–20 minutes on foot to the cathedral across the Rhine. Tram and train links are close by.
  • Breakfast included in many rates — Guests describe a hearty continental buffet with cheese, pastries, fruit, and free water in the room; several noted breakfast was part of the price.
  • Free Wi-Fi and basic amenities — Free Wi-Fi throughout, plus parking (about €12/day) and an EV charging station on site. Rooms have heating, a TV, and a shower.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Basic rooms with lower comfort scores — Rooms are compact and minimal – some have shared bathrooms. Guests rated comfort at 6.6 and facilities at 5.4, the lowest categories.
  • Self check-in only — The contactless process means no front-desk staff on site for most of the day. Guests who need human interaction may find this impersonal.
  • Mediocre value score — Despite some positive comments on value, the Value rating sits at 6.4, and one guest felt the hotel was 'nothing special.'

“A very good breakfast that was part of the price – a solid deal.”

“Handy location, just a short hop to Hohenzollern Bridge.”

7.6Verified guest

“Near the tram and train, yet you can walk to the Dom across the Rhine bridge. Shops and pubs are close by. Friendly management and breakfast staff, with a hearty spread, free water in the room, and fruit available. Free Wi-Fi and local calls. The room was basic but spotless, and security was good. I travelled with a group but stayed solo. A €6 local tax was added at checkout, as expected. It suited me – I slept well. If you want bacon and eggs and an English newspaper, look elsewhere; the continental breakfast was great for me, with a big coffee pot and a good selection of cheese and pastries.”

“Couldn't have been better – a fantastic room with a view of the cathedral.”
